What should have been a historic 2009 day at the Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay turned out to be a record-setting blizzard.
Last year on December 9, Jackson Browne came to the motel to do its first ever, Intimate House Concert but he was met with the largest snowstorm in recent history. Fearing that some might risk their lives to attend the show, we encouraged concertgoers NOT to put themselves in danger and vowed to do a “snow-day” make-up concert for those who could not get here. To everyone’s surprise, all but eight people made it to the inaugural performance.
The Holiday Music Motel announces with great pleasure that Jackson Browne is returning for another Intimate House Concert this November 14 at 7:30 pm. Those eight who were unable to attend that 2009 inaugural event will have their tickets honored at this upcoming concert.
After accounting for the “snow-day” tickets, a total of 38 tickets remain available for this intimate concert. Of these, 26 tickets (at $100 each) are available as hotel room packages. The remaining 12 tickets not attached to room packages have been donated to a free community raffle and eBay auction with funds earmarked for specific artistic projects:
- four (4) tickets donated to Citizens For Our Bridge (501c3), a non-profit organization, will be auctioned off to benefit Steel Bridge Songfest, an annual event hosted by CFOB (www.steelbridgesongfest.org).
- Another four (4) tickets will be donated to and auctioned by the motel to benefit the Holiday’s Music Events fund, which supports songwriting events such as Dark Songs(www.edgarallanpolka.com), held the last week of each October.
- The last four (4) tickets are designated for a free, open to the public community raffle. Please check the Holiday Music Motel Website for further information regarding the auction and the free community raffle.
Tickets went on sale November 2 and are only available through the Holiday Motel Website (www.holidaymusicmotel.com) on a first come, first served basis. Rooms for November 14 will appear as “blocked” until they are released for sale. Please contact holidayhouseconcerts@gmail.com with your questions rather than calling the motel.
